Just as banking had become reduced to ATMs, Umpqua flipped the script by encouraging it’s customers to not only bank inside, but
to stay a while. Their branches offered computer lounges, coffee, yoga
and local bands in a progressive and unbanky environment.
They also had very user-friendly products and world-class customer
service. Umpqua’s zag to make the bank a community hub again was unexpected and successful. We made sure their marketing was too.
